Novak Djokovic wins 3rd Wimbledon title

Asserting once again why he is the best player in the world, Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer 7-6 (1), 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 to win his 3rd Wimbledon title.

Federer broke early and was up 4-2 in the first set but Djokovic broke back in the next game after an attempt at a volley by the Swiss hit the net.

Djokovic was relentless in the first set tiebreak, continuing to pummel the Federer backhand to force his opponent to commit errors. Federer started to gain momentum after winning the second set tiebreak but Djokovic managed to return every ball and win the decisive rallies.

"It's a big challenge playing against Roger," Djokovic said. "He makes you push your limits, work hard and win every single point."

Djokovic also won this year's Australian Open but lost in the French Open finals to Stanislas Wawrinka. The world number one now has nine grand slam titles and will look to win the US Open, which he won in 2011.
