Victoria Azarenka ends title drought, wins Brisbane

The 28-month long journey is finally over for Victoria Azarenka.

The Belarusian former world number one last hoisted a WTA title in August 2013 at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati when she defeated Serena Williams. Since then, Azarenka has had to battle injuries that hampered her ability to stay in the top 10.

Currently ranked number 22, Azarenka capped off her impressive performance at the Brisbane International with a win today over Angelique Kerber, 6-3, 6-1. Azarenka didn't lose a set in this tournament and said that her win felt like an accomplishment.
