Calendar Slam no more: Roberta Vinci ousts Serena Williams to set up all-Italian US Open women's final

Roberta Vinci, ranked 43 in the world, waved her finger to the camera as if to say "no no no" as she takes in the euphoria of defeating Serena Williams in three sets to move to the final round of the US Open women's tournament.

Vinci won 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 and will face fellow Italian Flavia Pennetta, who earlier won against Simona Halep 6-1, 6-3.

"It's an amazing moment, it's incredible," Vinci said during her on-court interview. "So many things in my mind... I tried to stay in every point. Don't think about the match, don't think about Serena."

Vinci relied on her gutsy defense and streaky point-making prowess that left Williams flat-footed most of the match.

The loss means Williams will have to wait for another opportunity to complete a calendar slam.

"This was the best moment of my life," Vinci said.
